Try the Training Weasel on a language you don't speak. Click the child with the silver background. Watch the random nonsense evolve, little by little, into something that looks like the language you chose. The training Weasel doesn't know anything about words or scoring. It will often pick a non-word amongst a sea of good words. But it knows about word genes and selects the child that has the most popular variants. Sometimes it finds words and sometimes it doesn't. But it will always cause the population to resemble the language of choice. It will also select populations that are rich in words, even if it doesn't find them.
